My PS2 Slim reads some discs fine and some not at

Your laser is probably wearing itself down. Try cleaning it first with some isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab, but be gentle about it. Afterward, let it dry for an hour with the disc tray closed to prevent any further dust from getting on the lens, and see if it reads your other discs. If it doesn't you laser will need to be replaced or adjusted.
