LCD Monitor blacks in and out for 1-2 seconds

My LCD monitor blacks in and out randomly for 1-2 seconds, then it comes back to normal. One time my power went down and when it came up again, my monitor wouldn't start (i was pushing the power button and it would shut off back). I think that's when the blacking out started. This happenes when I'm at the PC or when i watch tv on it (with an external TV tuner).

The monitor is still under waranty but sometimes it doesn't black out for 1-2 hours in a row, so I can't really take it back to the shop untill i know what could be the problem.

No, it doesn't have an external transformer, it has a cord just like the computer's. When it blacks out the power button remains blue, like the monitor is running normal. I don't get a 'searching for signal' either.

A friends monitor has the same problem - blue LED turns on for 1-2seconds and then repeats. The monitor image briefly displays. I took the whole thing apart and found that if the CN4 and/or CN6 were plugged in the monitor would continute this power cycling. If I unplugged CN4 and/or CN6 I could get the blue LED to stay on, but still had the display for only 1-2 seconds. With no input ("Samsung test mode") I get the same 1-2 second flash routine. Have also tried VGA and DVI inputs to no avail.

I do notice that 2 of the power supply capacitors are rounded (C261 and C263) of which I am thinking of replacing just in case it may solve a power supply problem.

    Any suggestions?

Does your monitor have an external transformer as the psu ?
If so, try disconnecting at mains for about 5 seconds and re-connect. failing that we'll need to dig deeper.

whether the psu transformer is internal or external, from what you say, it does definitely sound like a power supply problem, possibly a faulty internal connection which intermittently makes/breaks the connection........if there is an inspection panel covering the video input from the pc, it may also be worth checking the security of the connection on the vga plug, making sure that the captive screws at both the pc and screen ends of the vga lead are secure, as slack screws can cause faulty connections.....if all is well and fault remains, then take it back to your point of sale. Personally if an item is still under warranty, I would simply take it back and demand a replacement !

Monitor goes blank less than a second after turning on.

Sounds like either there is a bad connection from the computer to the monitor, or the monitor has a faulty power regulator, causing the monitor to overheat prematurely, and shut off.

• 2) REMOVE YOUR AC ADAPTOR CORD, that's the wall power, remove it.

That will drain any static electricity that has built up on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of a black screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power and hit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up.

Replace your battery.

Picture goes black at random intervals

There are 4 c5707/5706 in the inverter transformer driving circuits, the cause of the problem was due to poor solder connection in the bias circuits of the transistors. Make sure to check that after you install the new transistors otherwise you will blowthem up. Common problem with this model. When the circuit drwas too much power from the power supply, it will shut itself off to ptotect itself.

My monitor goes black for about 2 seconds then goes back to pict.

Sounds asif the Xenon tubes that backlight the LCD are losing power. Probable cause, a power invertor or PSU fault.
It can be repaired by a hardware specialist, but best written off.
The cost of repair will be better spent on a new monitor.
