I bought Hoover Wind tunnel central vac...

I bought Hoover Wind tunnel central vacum from Costco. Once it was all hooked up and I plugged it in and turned the power button on and the vacum started with the hose being plugged into the outlet. Im wondering if there is a setting i can put it on so that it does not start up until i plug the hose in. Or do i have something hooked up wrong with the wiring.
