Problem for Dell Dimension 4600 PC Desktop
Computer will not turn on. " in power save mode"
Computer will not turn on. Light in front of the computer blinking. When I press a key on the key board a message comes on the screen and says " in power save mode " not sure what this is. I unplugged the computer and plugged it back in and keep getting the same message. I would be greatly appreciated it if someone could help. Thank You.

- Tried everything. Just pressed the power button, held it and still nothing. Only thing that I can think of is that the power supply is bad? Thank You for such a fast response and hope you can help.Nov 17, 2009
- Ok, so I unplugged everything inside of the computer to use less power to see if that was what was the problem. Didn't work but when I unplug the hard drive, compuer will turn on and go to setup. So it looks like the probem is from the hard drive but now stuck again because what would be causing it not to turn on when hard drive is plugged in?Clarification Request

Have you tried pushing the power button? Not holding it, just pressing it?

Hi,
When your computer initially turns on, do you get a beep? Once you get a beep, it will show a screen that allows you into the bios. By either hitting, the del key, or F1 or F2, it will tell you on the post screen. Once your inside the Bios, go to power, and unclick the button that says, place in power save, That should do it.
