Make sure you have the speakers plugged into the right spot usually the middle slot.
Check to see if the sound is muted on the speaker icon, botom right on youre screen.
(for windows xp classic view) If all is ok there go to start setings control panel system hardware device manager scrool down to sound video and game controlers, click on plus sign, find your sound card and uninstall it,restart computer and windows will reinstall it on boot up.
Have you checked with headphones in the same port? Is it possible you've selected "Mute"? Check the System Tray near the clock in the lower right hand corner of your screen and make sure there's not a red circle next to the little speaker icon.

Two problems. 1st. I can't mail merge from word to excel. Nor can I mail merge from Print shop to it's address book. 2nd problem. I can not scan from scanner to word. The scanner is fine. I checked it out with HP. HP said it's a Microsoft Windows problem. He suggested I re- install Microsoft office. I can't find the disk. I do have the product Ket for Windows XP home addition. Would that help in any way? What do you think the solution is?
