Where is the fuse located on a rca flat screen tv

The fuse on an RCA flat screen TV is typically located on the power supply board near one of its corners. The power supply board is the board with an array of capacitors, resistors, and heat sinks on it . The fuse is a small cylindrical tube with metal caps and is relatively small compared to other components on the board . If you have never seen a circuit board before, finding the fuse may be tricky. You can consult the user manual for your TV if you need help locating the fuse . TV Fuse Replacement Guide: Locating and Replacing Your TV Fuse - PointerClicker.com

Replacing the fuse should be done with caution, especially if it is soldered to the board, as errors could lead to costly damage. You can check if the fuse is blown visually or with a multimeter-like tool. If you are unsure about how to replace the fuse, it is best to seek professional help.

Lecy blew tv wouldn't come back on change fuse in plug still no light on tv does 42" lg hd tv have a fuse internal.

Yes, TV's have an internal fuse on the power supply. All too often though more damage is caused besides a blown fuse or the fuse doesn't serve the purpose and the power supply is damaged. You can check and replace the fuse as necessary. If you need a replacement power supply, here is a list of vendors below. Have your TV model ready to help you find the part you need.

Tv at standby mode blown fuse fu120 2.5A.What next to do?

Hi,

Unplug the TV from the power point.
Replace the fuse with the same value 2.5Amps
Do not put a higher value fuse in there because if there is a fault it may damage your TV.
When you replace the Fuse, plug the TV back into the power point.
If it works great, then it may have been a faulty fuse or power surge.
If the TV doesn't work then you may need a TV Technician to check the TV.

I hope this helps you.
If so please leave a vote or comment.

Is there a power fuse in this tv. sony 32" 1998 trinitron. Had great color, picture & sound. Will not turn on/no power.

There are fuses in most TV's... and in some cases, it's nothing but the fuse. BUT, the fuses are there to protect the circuits... so unless you know that there is nothing wrong with the TV, you shouldn't simply replace the fuse and plug it back in. However, if the TV is an older TV and it's either fix it by replacing the fuse or get rid of the TV... then I'd certainly take out the screws and check the fuses in the TV. But many times the fuse blows to protect it when something else fails... so if you find a blown fuse, look around for other signs.

Replacement of fuses on Philips 37PF7320A 37 in. HDTV-Ready LCD

Is the fuse in the plug okay?

If the fuses are not blowing when you are turning the tv on, this suggests that the PSU primary side is okay.

Since you have opened the TV up, I would suggest probing around with a multimeter however I do not want to let you harm yourself or the TV.

TV will not work

Hello dnjmartz,

Your friend is correct there is a fuse in your televisions's power supply. Now I do not however suggest that you open the TV set and try to find it, because it's not like the old days where the fuse was located in or around about the same area in most TVs . The fuse in this case might be towards the middle of the set or on the power supply board in any location so finding the fuse will be the biggest chore. However here are some simple instructions of how you might be able to find the fuse.

1. unplug the TV
2 take the back off of the tv
3. using a flashlight look for a component that looks like two round metallic cylinders separated by a glass cylinder.
4. remove the fuse from the fuse holder
5. visually inspect the fuse for internal burning (black soot)
6. if possible test the fuse with an ohmmeter should read 0 ohms
7. Replace the fuse with one of the same voltage and current rating (check for replacement fuses at radio shack or some place like that)
8. After the fuse is replaced try to turn on the TV before putting the back on "BE VERY CAREFUL DANGEROUS VOLTAGES ARE PRESENT"
9. If the TV comes on you are read to turn the TV off and put the back of the TV back on.
10 If the TV does not come back on you will have to get the set looked at by a qualified TV technician since if the TV does not come on it may be the result of a power supply malfunction.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Tedelex colour TV

Hi,
first check the fuse in the plug.if its ok then the fuse in side the tv might have blown,if you are going to check the fuse in side the tv your self PLEASE make sure that the tv is NOT plug into the mains and be very careful that you do not touch any of the circuit boards as you will/might get a electric shock..the fuse might be a 20mm glass type, inside the fuse you should see a piece of wire if this is broken then that is the fault,if you cannot see the wire then you will need a meter to check the fuse. if you have no meter to check the fuse then take the fuse to a tv shop to check..hope this will get the tv working,if not then im afraid the tv will have to be taken in for repair..all the best..Lee Bruce.
