Problem for Toshiba 32A30 32" TV

My remote control on my toshiba 32

My remote control on my toshiba 32" tv stopped working or would work periodically. I have reprogramed the remote and changed the batteries 3 different times with same result. I purchased a remote ctl from Radio Shack and have the same result. Seems to be the tv itself.
Is this a difficult problem to have repaired. If so, I'll buy a new TV.

A lot of times it is the remote sensor in the set. These are good sets so I would have it checked out. Could be fairly cheap. Thanks for using fixya.
