Samsung Instinct "controlling itself."

My Samsung Instinct M-800 is giving trouble. I can no longer operate it. When it is on, it randomly starts lowering and increasing the volume and opening the top bar showing the battery, signal, etc. Resetting the phone and removing the battery and waiting for a bit hasn't helped at all.

Reinstall the firmware over the internet. The firmware seems to have got corrupted and is forcing the phone to misbehave.
