When I scan a document, it shows up on the preview black. When I print it , it's black. I try to copy a document, it's black/blank. How do I fix this problem?
Depending on what program you are using to scan, there are usually options to the left of the preview pane where you can choose black/white, greyscale, or color scanning. There should also be an option for selecting resolution. The default resolution is usually set to 400dpi but if an image you scan is large (5x7 or 8x10) you may want to change it to a higher resolution (600 works well).

When I try to scan, I get error message on printer that says No Scan Options. Press OK to continue. I have to put the cd back in the tray and run it again in order to use my scanner.I've turned it off and on, unplugged the power cord and plugged it back in; I've tried everything I can think of. I don't like the HP program for scanning. I used to just push the scan button and tell it to scan to Picture It. Not anymore. :(
