Re: Panasonic Cable?

I'm not jaylex, but fax machines use a standard RJ-11 phone cord.

My panasonic KX-FM 220 fax machine is just not switching on. Does that mean its completely dead and is irreparable? Thank you in advance Brenda

Hi Brenda,
First, No machine is completely dead or Irrepairable. Make sure that power connection/ cable are proper (connection or faulty power cable could be the issue).
I suspect that its power safety fuse may have blown (which is inside the fax machine). Therefore, it is suggested that you may get the fax machine inspected by an authorized professional for its repair.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Check and eventually replace the phone cable.
The fax machine must be connected using a two-conductor phone cable such as the cable pictured below at the left:

Panasonic Panafax UF-885

If there are two RJ-11 jacks on the fax machine you need to make sure that the line from the wall is plugged into the LINE jack not the TEL jack. If that is not it let me know and I will provide you some troubleshooting instructions from the factory service manual.

Machine does not fax

try sending it to another number or sending a test to another company this will tell you if it is your fax or theres. If you get the same problem try changing the line cable and it has to be a panasonic cable as they have different cross points on the line cable than others if this still does not work then the likely thing is that the modem is faulty and will need replacing.

Hope this helps you
Thanks J
