Glasses and dishes smell like a fishtank when done

  Hi, I've been scanning this for awhile ,as I have this problem on and off. I have watched what I have been cooking and have come to the conclusion it's to do with eggs. I always noticed it when we had eggs ( they are fed with ground up fish) so changed to vegetarian fed chicken eggs and problem got better, I only notice it now if I use a salad cream or mayonnaise type products with egg added in the ingredients and I hand wash these away from all other items. I have noticed many comments on hygiene, but if you have this problem you become a cleaning nut trying to get rid of it. I always clean with vinegar and bleach and it did not work with this one. Dec 06, 2009 - Just one more quick note, I hand wash the fishy /eggy items in a light solution of water/biological liquid. If it takes the fox smell off the dog it should work as well on the dishes (that was my theory) and if you air dry afterwards it just goes away. bipper 8

9-10 times this is usually related to poor drain line installation.be sure that there is an incline at least the height of the bottom of the sink. the drain line is usually attached to garbage disposal.raise that line to prevent water from draining into d/w from sink....run jet dry dishwasher cleaner to clean unit and kill foul odor
