I have a HP Compaq 6910p with blue lines down screen ? can you help ? Please ; )

Hello there
I had this issue too with a Vaio i had. This means that there is a faulty connection between the ribbonconnecting your LCD monitor to the motherboard. Now, you can attempt to disassemble the PC and check the connection, but this would void your warranty and if you havent done something like this before, then i dont recommend it. What you should do is take it into your local service location to get this fixed.
I hope this helps. Thumbs up always appreciated.

Did you remove the "old" RAM, or did you add the "new" RAM to the old RAM?

Try using your computer with ONLY the "new" RAM installed.

When you turn on the laptop the screen is almost white with very small fine black lines going up and down. but hook up a external monitor and the lcd comes to life. Please help!!!!!

If it shows fine with an external monitor, then you would have to check your screen cable or screen itself. You would need a working one to test it with.

All the best.

you could have accidently changed to external monitor with Fn +F(the number is 8 on my comp but could be 5 on yours-check keys on top of the keyboard it has a picture rectangle / little TV), anyways to check that attach external monitor to your laptop(must have a VGA cable) if you have a picture on external monitor try Fn + F(depends on what you have on ur keyboard) it should bring you a window with choices to choose laptop LCD or external LCD choose 1st one .
hope that is it.

Black screen with vertical lines through it

Could be faulty graphics chip or faulty screen. If you can hook up external monitor and picture is fine then probably faulty screen. If external monitor shows same problem the faulty graphics chip. Take to repair shop and let them have a look.

Blue and yellow lines on the screen

It's either the video card or the lcd. Try hooking the computer to an external monitor. If you get the same results on the external then it's probably the video card. If not, signs point to the lcd.

Let me know if you need any more help or info.

Blank screen

I think your LCD is stuffed is it under warranty do you know BUT if the screen is cracked they wont replace it typical HP. To get your external monitor running hold down the function key and the blue monitor looking key similtaneously normally on compaq its the F4 key but look around your keyboard (looks like a monitor) and is blue letters.
