EVERY KEY HIT COMES UP '!'.

There are many possible causes for this. First, observe the printing. If the hammer is missin the petal on the printwheel it will print two paralell lines on the paper. This is actually the face of the hammer contacting the paper. If this happens, it mens that eith the hammer is out of position or more likely the printwheel is not spinning to the proper position. Ensure that nothing is interfering with the movement of the printwheel (ike the ribbon or correction tape). Remove and inspect the printwheel for dirt dust (especially in the holes in the rear of the cartrige. With the printwheel out of the machine, blow into the area where the printwheel normall would sit in the machine (there is a sensor there that could be blocked by dust/dirt. It is possible that the machine could have a defective selection motor or cracked gear, requireing replacement.
