OK 3 things needed to boot a PC...
Memory, Video and CPU...
Easiest thing to do first is try and swap out a memory stick. Hopefully you have a burnt out stick of memory.
Open the memory slot and hopefully there are 2 sticks try one then the other.
When you say nothing works I am assuming you can't even get into the bios.
If you are talking about not booting to windows that is a completely different story. But for now I'd try the memory thing.

Ok please try to swap out the memory first ...
That is the easiest least expensive way to begin ..It really sounds like a memory problem to me..
Is that possible..Let me know ..hopefully you have 2 sticks in there now and only one went bad.
do you have any way of getting your memory tested?

  • Anonymous Nov 09, 2009

Now that memory is out of the way...you did say at times it will start then freeze up...
Keep trying to get it to start...right after the bios loads hit F8 and see if you can get it to boot into safe mode
Is this doable or no way?

Hey wait I am sorry I got tied up for a couple days after further study this is a common problem with the a 100...I had all the info ready to post for you...And i got busy and it

  • Anonymous Nov 15, 2009

Wait after further research on the A100 that is a common problem I had all the info and diagrams then rebooted and lost all. I will get them again give me a little while. It is either the power jack needs soldering which is very easy fix or overheating because of bad fans or dust, all the same symptoms as yours were described, let fins the article again, even gave diagrams of how to fix.

Sleep and hibernate options are part of Bios. what i mean by that is if these is an issue with Bios these features wont work. Sometimes there has been known issues with cordless mice and other devices plugged in via usb port. Also outdated video and other drivers will do same. i would recommend first of all going to manufacturers site and downloading latest Bios update for your system, once this is done run windows update and make sure pc is restarted once done. After all this go back to your manufacturers site and download all of the driver updates that are available. Hope this helps.

Not wake from sleep or hibenate

Usually, to wake from sleep pr hibernate, you just need to press the "Power" button of your laptop. It will not turn it off or restart the laptop if it is in the "sleep" or hibernate mode. Pressing any key usually wake it up. The default way is to press the power button as if turning it ON for the first time.

Put my toshiba laptop into sleep mode closed the lid, reopened it within seconds, and now the laptop will not come back on

Reboot the laptop, go to control panel > power options > go through the settings, especially what does the computer do when lid is closed and change the setting to "do nothing", turn off hibernation if it is on. Change other settings to now allow the computer to go to sleep, just let it run until you decide to turn it all the way off. Sleep mode and Hibernation cause more problems than do good.

Satellite pro - preparing to hibernate can't get it to come on

You have to go to the display properties in the control panel. Once there, click on screen saver then power. Once that window opens, there is a hibernation tab, and you can shut it off.
