Problem after firmware update Edimax BR-6114Wg

After I update the firmware at V2.12 (last one on Edimax site) I see the following problem :

  1. When I connect WAN cable the Led 10/100 is ON an blink when is transfer and LNK/ACT Led is OFF all time (this led never light).
  2. When I connect LAN cable the Led 10/100 is ON an blink when is transfer and LNK/ACT Led is ON all time .
I downgrade the firmware at V2.11
  1. When I connect WAN cable the Led 10/100 is ON an blink when is transfer and LNK/ACT Led is ON all time.
  2. Same like V2.12
In rest I don't see other problem the router work well.

Ps. With original firmware the leds work like in picture. (but I don't know the version of this firmware)

Re: Problem after firmware update Edimax BR-6114Wg

Hi Fklco,

Why are you connecting the WAN,, (the internet modem cable), to the standard ports? It should have a WAN port, for the cable from the modem, and a LAN for the cables to the computer?

On the other hand, if it is working, I would leave well enough alone, :D

Issues with the BR-6114WG

Depending on how your router is set up, it may be a DNS problem. Start from beggining and make sure your router is enabled for wireless, wep or other encryption is off, DHCP is enabled for assigning IP addresses automatically. Run this programme on pc's, click Start>run then type ipconfig /flushdns then press enter. Clean out your old cached and temp files. Go to your wireless adapters properties and ensure that they are set to obtain ip address automatically in TCP/IP settings. Restart systems and hopefully you are away. Every time you use windows to repair the connection it will try to re-new IP addreses, but it won't be the one your router uses, so don't use it, as you will lose connection to the router.
