There could be programmes running at startup that you don't need at that time, go to start-run-type "msconfig" click on "startup" tab, uncheck any startup items you don't need.
Before doing this, its a good idea to backup your registry so that if problems arise, you can restore to original.
A highly recommended backup utility for the registry is ERUNT, just type ERUNT into google for the details.
Also you should run an anti-virus scan to check for any malware.

Someone as hacked my facebook account and is inviting people to be my friend and also is carrying on conversations with my friends, I changed my password. What else can be done to stop this person?

Click here to recover your account..
https://www.facebook.com/hacked

After you recover it, I recommend setting up Login Approvals to ensure it doesn't happen again.

What are login approvals? How do I turn this setting on? Login approvals are an extra security feature similar to login notifications, but with an extra security step. If you turn on login approvals, you'll be asked to enter a special login code each time you try to access your Facebook account from a new computer or mobile phone. After you log in, you'll have the option to give that device a name and save it to your account. You won't have to enter a code when you log into any of these recognized devices.
To turn on login approvals:
  1. Go to your Security Settings page ( 851580_142488495957208_1588909839_n.png > Account Settings > Security)
  2. Click on the Login Approvals section
  3. Check the box and save your changes
A few things to note:
  • You need to have a mobile phone number listed on your account to turn on login approvals. You can add one to your account when you turn on login approvals.
  • If you haven't named the device you're using, you'll be asked to do so when you turn on login approvals. Don't click the Save this device option if you're using a computer that other people use (ex: a library computer).
  • After you turn on login approvals, we need to be able to remember your computer and browser info so we can recognize it next time you log in. Some browser features block this. If you've turned on private browsing or set up your browser to clear your history every time it closes, you might have to enter a code every time you log in. Learn more.

Will having too many processing program will slow down my Mac?

Maybe, or probably. Well, there are a number of reasons that may causing a Mac computer running slow, but generally two factors: hardware part & system part. For hardware part: I guess it's OK if your Mac is not that old. For system part: there might be a lot of junk files, caches, registry errors... out there which largely slow down any Mac machines. about 80% slow Mac caused by this reason, if so, try cleaning the system. My computer is not fast and so may virus

A lot of the time, this simply means that you have too many programs running at the same time. If you're using windows press CTRL+SHIFT+ESCAPE, then when the window pops up, click the performance tab at the top, and look under there to see if you've used up too much memory.
Since windows starts using your hard drive as extra temporary memory once your ram fills up, it slows the computer's operation down quite a bit. This means that you either have to upgrade the amount of ram that you have or try to uninstall software running that you don't absolutely need.
There's a list of running processes under the processes tab. It takes a little bit of experience, but some of the names under there might be recognizable, and you can find out what to uninstall using that as your hint.

It can take anything up to ten minutes from logging on to getting on line

Try powering off the router and then powering it back on again. After it syncs with the line then it should improve the login time. If not then take a look at your PC and make sure that you have enough spare disk space and that there are no hardware errors showing. Insufficient disk space (swap file space) will considerably slow down the pc boot up process and everything else as well.

My computer gets dead slow after opening more than 4 tabs in Firefox (version 3.5.1) and when I type anything, it reflects after 4-5 seconds. I don't know whether Firefox is the reason, because I am a Net...

The problem is your lack of RAM. Anti virus programmes are often quite heavy & are running all the time. Windows updates & service packs eventually start to consume more of resources & any other programmes you have running are using RAM. Add an extra 1GB or as much as you can. RAM is cheap & easy to install.

Slow

Hey
There can be many things that can cause your computer to slow down.
First of all Viruses .. some viruses once in the computer are difficult to be recognized by normal anit-viruses they generally make your computer go slow, such a problem can be solved either by getting a better anti virus or by formatting your system
There can be another reason... have you check how many processes are running on your comp?
ctrl + alt + delete go to processes... now a normal XP os needs only 17-20 applications to run properly ... so anything in excess to it is being run on your computer to provide some sort of service to you(you must not start stopping those extra processes w/o knows what they are doing).Try closing some of the applications this should make your computer work faster
There can be another reason... the drive space in your OS drive Say Drive C is very less ... should be above 500 Mb for smooth functioning.. in such a case delete unwanted files..

Maybe a virus

is it the internet that runs slow or everything? either way, go to the following site:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

click on the link that says "Scan Now. Its Free!" it will do an online virus scan of your computer, and this should get rid of any viruses you have. You may have to install Java for it to work. If so, it should provide a link to install it. If it doesnt, google "java software" and download the software. it may also be a RAM problem (not enough computer memory) but thats probably not as likely if your computer is new. Also, you can go the task manager and delete all of the processes that you think arent needed (such as itunes, etc. make sure that your user name is under the user name column for each one you are deleting, and DO NOT delete the "explorer" process or any system processes). And this may speed up your computer as well.
