Wont come on...it cycles 3 times and then the standby light comes on.
Problem for Samsung HLN617W 61 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television
I HAVE A SAMSUNG HLN617W AND THE TV HAS BEEN
I HAVE A SAMSUNG HLN617W AND THE TV HAS BEEN MAKING A GRINDING NOISE THAT JUST SEEMS TO BE GETTING LOUDER. NOW THE TV POWERS ON AND THE LIGHT BULB COMES ON FOR ABOUT TWENTY SECONDS AND THEN THE TV SHUTS OFF AND THE GREEN LIGHT COMES ON IN THE FRONT OF THE TV. iM NOT SURE IF ITS THE COLOR WHEEL OR MAYBE THE BULB OR SOMETHING ELSE??

Here is what I would do if I was you.
Remove the lamp---it is customer removable---- The color wheel will be able to be seen--it will face the front of the lamp.
In case you do not know the color wheel is a round plastic wheel with different colored segments--
What you are looking for is are any or most of them shattered--anything short of the complete wheel will cause the lamp to go off---set will detect the wheel not moving correct and shut lamp off---color wheel turns at over 12,000 rpm.
Some sets you may need to use a small mirror to see the wheel.
If it is damaged you can based on your model number find one on the internet--lots of places sell replacements.
There are also several sites that have printed and even Video instructions for the replacement of the wheel--this is the least expensive way to get this fixed. Most of the wheels run from about 90 -130 dollars plus shipping.
Confirm actual model number and VERSION number that will be on a label on the right side and or the back of the set.
