I have an Asus K60 Laptop.I can not figure out how to turn off the touch pad, as I am using a wireless external mouse instead of the touchpad on the laptop.Any clues?

- There is no disable button there.Only uninstall and I really don`t want to uninstall it just in case the external mouse fails.

Did you try the FN key and F9...
That is what they say to disable your touchpad

You have a function key which is called Fn That key allows you to use the functions on the F series keys

So Fn then F9 should do the trick

I just finished doing this on my laptop. Goto Control Panel --> Hardware and Sound --> Mouse. Once there check the last tab for the touch pad settings. Once in there you should be able to disable the "tapping" or other features of the touch pad you want to disable.

Look in "Control Panel" for Mouse/Touchpad settings.
Look in "Device Manager", and "disable" the device.
