On my 77-099 Cb MIDLAND Radio I wonder can i use a antanna that is used for vehicle can be made for a home base radio place.I BOUGHT A MIDLAND CB RADIO AND MADE IN TO A HOME BASE RADIO THAT IS MADE FOR VEHICLE I GET VOICES BUT SO STATIC I CANT MAKE OUT WHAT THEY ARE SAYING I LOOK AT THE ANTANNA ADJUST IT BUT STILL SAME AND THE RADIO IS BRAND NEW OUT THE BOX I HAD KNOW WERE US GO TO BUT HERE ASK A EXPERT FOR ANSWERS.
Generally this is not a good idea. The antennas that are designed for use with a car, use the body of the car as a ground plane. If you try to use this in a house (or even outside the house), it's not going to work.
Your only chance at even getting such a setup to work would be to attach the antenna to a LARGE flat piece of metal, approximately the size of a car, which is then grounded with a long metal rod into the earth.
I'd really suggest looking into buying a proper home CB antenna, which would then need to be mounted somehow to the roof of the house (or as high up as possible.) If this is not a feasible option, you should do a Google search for "CB Dipole Antenna", and get instructions on how to build and tune your own antenna. Dipoles are not overly difficult to construct, and perform quite well.
