Question about MSI Wireless-G RG54G3 Router
I'm using MSI Wireless-G RG54G3 Router for my home network. A device which support wan is connected to the router. At the moment i am able to connect to this device from the internal network only. My problem is how can i set the router to access this device from any internet connection outside the network.
Two separate solutions are needed.
First, you will need to ask your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to assign a "fixed IP address" to your Internet connection. Your ISP typically assigns addresses to home users out of a large "pool" of addresses that are shared among several customers. Because of this, your home network address is not always the same. Most ISP's charge an extra fee to always keep your address the same.
The second task is to configure the firewall function in your router so it will pass connections through from the WAN to the device inside your network. The procedure to do this should be included in the instruction manual for your router.
