I don´t know am I understand you question, but I think that is somthing on the net shut down you computer.
It can be hapend if you system isn´t original, or if you pick up some very bad viruses.

In both case the best solution is new system with full format all you hard drive.

That you have icons on the desktop, can be if you go on net, you will be always have the same problem (shut down comp.)
