Nothing!!:) They are both dual core cpus but core2due are the intel brand and dual core are the amd ones. Intel are the top ones just now if you are into overclocking but some of the amd ones are better if you are not.

hope this helps?

I have dell optiplex 760 core 2 due,i notice that when i worked on internet my computer automatically restart after some time,,,,,plzzz tel me solution

Check whether the CPU Fan is working (try to listen for Fan noise).
This is typical of CPU overheating. Detailed Memory Test can be performed during bootup to prevent PC from even booting up if there is a memory fault. There are free programs on the web to run detailed memory tests. You can use these to verify. However, one simple method to verify is to put a small fan on the air vent of the Dell and check whether your PC still has the symptoms. If it does, then the problem is not CPU heating up.

Want faster processor for acer x1300 it base unit

Here are the spec on your pc if the information you gave me is correct. You can only upgrade the cpu to the socket you have. I think you would be better off adding more RAM and a better video card that isn't onboard. Processor / Chipset
  • Type AMD Athlon X2 7450 / 2.4 GHz
  • Number of Cores Dual-Core
  • 64-bit Computing Yes
  • CPU Qty 1.0
  • Max CPU Qty 1.0
  • Chipset Type NVIDIA GeForce 8200

Computer wont come on

does it boot up completely or just a blink of logo or ?
could be power failure due to what?? power module, cpu chip fan
failure, clock/battery dead, ...just searching my mind for ideas.
could also be a motherboard capacitor over heating in which case
will fail completely at some point. remove chasis and check those round capacitors(like tiny oil barrels shape) all over MB. if bad they will be swollen at top where the + is. if cpu fan is not spinning then a failsafe error happens so cpu won't burn up. how old is machine?
also, ac adapter may be failing to provide power.

The CPU cooling fan usually sits on top of a heat sink which is held tightly agaist the core of the CPU by the clasps you refered to. It soumds to me like the CPU has oveheated and will only function for a few seconds. If it's a fairly new CPU, you may be able to buy one online at places like If it's an older model, you will have to try & find one at places like E-bay.

If you install a replacement make sure the CPU fan/heatsink clamps the CPU flush against the heat sink (apply a thin coating termal paste to the top of the CPU core).
NOTE: If the plastic clamps attached to the motheboard which hold the fan clips are broken - forget it! A new CPU will just ovehat again.

Sytem fan is kaput

You geetin a false readin how can core 0 being a diffrent then core 1 when there the same waffer this is funny as all get out.. The ystem fan on this unit would be just below the power supply fan if you have one. If you do not have one then there will be little round holes there and you could look right into the case that means there is not fans present, Some manufactures do not power up the fan using the motherboard the piggy back it off one of the drive power cables thus you will get no reading at all Hence the sensor will not sense that there is a actual fan connected. If you where at 128 C you would burn the cpu you probably talking Fahrenheit? Anyway to remedy any situation you would need to buy a fan and put it where there is a place to put it in you case and plug it into the motherboard it should say FAN 1 etc etc.. Good luck

Do you know what the CPU socket is or chipset? If the CPU socket is a 478 then no dual core. If it a 775 then you might be able to use a Pentium D dual core w/ 800MHz FSB.
If you have a 945 chipset then the above will be true.
