Dell laptop latitude d520 wont bootup(Windows XP)

You will need to repair your operating system, if you have your recovery software (recovery disc) with you or your windows xp installer,

1 Turn On your Unit
2. Press F12
3. Put your cd on your cd rom drive
4. Choose where the option identify your cd drive (after you press F120
5. press enter when you see "Boot from CD"
6. Follw instruction and choose Repair
7. Follw the step by step procedure

that's it

Your hard drive is shot. It's time to either put in a new one, or take it to a repair shop.
