I've got a Thermaltake blac X docking station. The blue light comes on but it is not blinking and my comp doesn't see it. What do I do next? This is the second time I used it and it worked fine the first time.

I just got an external SATA Drive Docking station and am looking to replace my tape backup system with a disks. I'm concerned that the drive electronics on a typical SATA drive (eg Seagate Baracuda ST3500320AS) are exposed making the disk very open to esd destruction. If I were installing in a tower I would be okay with the design, but the idea of ejecting the disk on a regular basis leads me to conclude that this idea behind the Drive Dock is not ready for prime time. My first question is has somebody solved the ESD issue for these drives and I've just not heard about? Otherwise, is there an enclosure mechanism or product that I can use to protect these raw drives when not in use?
