Hi.
If there is no power at all, then it is either the power cord or power board inside the TV.
If after the fault the TV went in standby and does not wake up, then the TV has gone on protect mode after detecting a fault.
When this happens higher voltages are shut down to prevent further damage.
The clicking noise you hear is a protection switch that prevents the TV from starting.
Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.
Also
ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box
or dvd connected.
If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing
led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while,
that indicates a fault condition.
The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.
1The
internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic
charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read
by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the
protection circuit.
2 The protection circuit detected a wrong
voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in
, startingthe flashing light.
If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.
If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.
Common faults
that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a
convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.
If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual
If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.
First lift the upper end of FS3 on the Z-sus PWB. This is the board on the right looking at it from the back. Place your voltmeter on the lifted end of the fuse (FS3 is the bottom fuse of the 2 fuses). The voltage you are checking is known as the VA voltage. It will be in the 200v range. Turn the set on and monitor this voltage. If the voltage comes up and stays up most likely you have a bad panel. Just to double check though, unplug the set and put the fuse back down and unplug connector P701 on the x drive right board. This board is down at the bottom right. Turn the set back on. Does VA voltage come up and stay up? If it does the problem is from the control board to COF3,4,5 or X drive left board including COF1 and 2. If the voltage doesn't come up and stay up the problem is with x drive right or COF6 and 7 (the COF's are the small boards along the very bottom). Pull connectors COF 6 and 7. If the voltage now comes up and stays up it is the panel. If it doesn't it's the x drive right board. If the voltage does come back up after unplugging P701, the problem is with the control board or the x drive left board including COF 1,2,3,4, and 5. Now lift P702 to eliminate x drive left and COF1,2. If the VA voltage comes back up and stays up it is on the X drive left board or COF 1,2. If it doesn't, pull connectors COF 1 and 2 and check voltage again. If it now comes up it is the panel. If after pulling P702 it doesn't come up it is the control board or COF 3,4 or 5. Try pulling COF 3,4 or 5 and if it comes up it is the panel. As you can see this is a process of elimination. If you make it to the COF's and the VA voltage comes up you have a bad panel. Let me know what you find. Glad to help. Rusty

Usually answered in minutes!
ok thanks, again, I just put anew power board in (p/n MPF7414) and now it goes into standb mode (whicj i think is the yellow display panel light...red for off, green for on and yellow i think for standby?). Now what do i need to do or part required?
thanks you, I will get the voltage this evening if teh 'interconnect cable' proves NOT to be faulty or ont seated properly, I will try that 1st. Is teh Interconnect cable you are referring to a ribbon-type cable?
thanks, I will double check that connection as it was very difficult to get that seated. After that, if not working I will reply and let you know voltage and status. If it does work, I will accept your answer and give positive feedback. Thanks again!
if it were a bad panel, y would i have no audio? just askin.
Hi Rusty, I appreciate your direction, detailed at that. I will try this but was not able to do anything last night, we had plans to go watch the game, I had forgotten all about that. I hope to check it all out this evening, will let you and palaboy know...Thanks again!
Hi I am ready to test voltages this wekend but I need to know where the 4 test points are located please. Thanks
Rusty, 1- there is no P701 I can locate??? Lifting the fuse FS3 on zsus PWB gives me a reading of 5.1-5.5 with my voltmeter set wit red in V/Ohm/f and V__/--- 200m.
