Acer 5002 Laptop

My Acer 5002 will not turn on with the adapter plugged in. My computer went into hibernation yesterday after the battery went low. What do I need to do now? Do I let the battery get charged with the adapter plugged in?

-   I truned on my Toshiba laptop m-105 yesterday and it immediately went into hibernation. It took quite a while to shutdown. It will not start. I push the power button the light comes on, then the second light comes on and I can hear it try to begin......after about 3 seconds it shuts down....HELP!-   ztohs

-   The same happened with my Acer 5002 and the connector pin of the AC adapter is burnt. Looks melted. I bought an new adapter but the charge light doesn't turn on.-   Guest

Once you get the problem fixed make sure you use a cable retention device (like the JerkStopper) to make sure you don;t damage the pin a second time. Source: www.jerkstopper.com

Is there any damage or play at the power jack at rear? Sounds like no power is going in. Are there any light on it? Power adapter maybe be faulty also.
