Bought the washer used. wah cycle speed doesn't seem to be changing. Appears to be slow no matter which setting. can't tell for sure because when I open the lid it stops & I can't locate the switch to hold down & watch

Your washer motor should be 2 speed. Sounds as if you bought a washer with a defective motor.
