The system was working well, but when I turned it off, I inadvertantly turned off the pilot also. When I push in the knob to light the pilot (with spark or match) I get no lighting. Apparently, I'm not getting gas there as I hear nothing when I push in the pilot light knob, nor can I smell gas. I have taken the pilot regulator loose, and can blow through it ok, so it seems ok. also the pilot tube to pilot light is clear. I have disconnected the main input gas line and seem to get get good pressure from the sound. ( I don't know how to measure the pressure, but system calls for 6" WC.) Does this mean that my control system has gone bad? Is it likely that the input pressure is insufficient to work properly? Is there a cheap instrument that I can use to check the input pressure? I haven't taken the main input regulator loose and tested that by blowing through it.. It seemed like that was going to be hard to do when I made the first attempt to disconnect it. Should I take it loose and test this somehow? How best to test it? I probably should mention that the pilot light was hard to keep lit last year, but when I finally got it lit, I've left it on for this last year. When I accidently turned it off last week (or it went out when I turned the flames off), is when I haven't been able to get it to light at all. I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice.
