Before I moved, I was able to hook up my camera and transfer images with no problem, now after I moved and set my computer back up, I am unable to transfer images. I have one of those 4 USB hubs because I have several other items hooked up on my computer as well. I do not think it is back in the same port, could that be not allowing me to transfer images. The camera tries to connect but instead, it just says one moment and does not allow me to transfer. Please help me with this if you know what I should do. I have already uninstalled Olympus Master, the software it came with and re-installed it and still nothing!!! If you know what I can do to fix this, please let me know, Thanks

images are stored on standard Type I CompactFlash cards. Consider the included 8 MB card a starter capacity, since its 12-picture limit means you'll need to return to your computer often to transfer images and free up the card for more pictures. A 128 MB card is a great size for this camera, storing around 200 images. To transfer images to your computer, simply attach the included USB cable between your PC and your camera. Your computer should automatically recognize your camera and let you move the pictures to your hard drive. Simply click on my computer click on new drive shown in this folder, select all the pictures, copy them and past to your desired location, you can also copy picture by using card reader, put the SD card in card reader and follow the same procedure Good luck, do rate the solution if helped
Press the MENU/OK button. Use cursor-left/right to select the Setup menu (wrench icon). Use cursor-up/down to select "Move images to Card..." and press MENU/OK. Confirm when the confirmation screen comes up.
The above is from the "Move images to Card" section of the manual (page 93 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00365527.pdf
Do you want the pictures transferred to your memory card? that depends on the option available on the camera, try inserting the memory card. select a picture then check options if you can move it to a memory card. if not, download it to a computer and transfer it to the memory card folder.
I believe there are 2 modes of usb transfer that you can pick in the camera. They are set somewhere in the menu in the options. If you go through the menus thoroughly you'll find it. One option is for connecting the camera directly to a printer and the other is for computer transfer (there might also be an Auto setting but I don't remember for sure). Make sure that setting is set for computer transfer. If that doesn't fix your problem, re-install or update EOS Utility / ZoomBrowser.
you might have to remove the driver in safe mode of windows 98.
then reinstall the drivers for the camera after removal.
also look in the control panel for add/remove program and look for your camera drivers
if they are there remove them, and reinstall the drivers.
also there are some computer where the usb port could be failing, try the camera on another computer, but i really would suggest a card reader for camera, since it take away the wear and tear of the camera by hooking it up and turning it on for transferring the files. i just use a card reader, and just used the camera to take pictures.
Have you checked the HP hep site?
Here is their suggestion
Introduction
This document explains how to transfer images from the camera to a computer running Windows XP operating system by using a universal serial bus (USB) cable.
Transferring the images
Follow the steps below to transfer images from the camera to a Windows XP computer.
Step one: Connect the camera to the computer
Turn off the camera.
The camera came with a special USB cable for connecting the camera to a computer. Connect the large end of that USB cable to the computer.
Figure 1: Connect the USB cable
Open the rubber door on the side of the camera and connect the small end of the USB cable to the USB connector on the camera.
Step two: Transfer the images
Choose one of the following methods to transfer the image files:
Method one: Transfer images with the HP Photosmart software
If images on the camera are selected for printing or selected for HP Instant Share destinations, make sure the computer is connected to a printer and the Internet.
Turn on the camera. The HP Import Photos software starts on your computer. If you have set the software to automatically transfer the images in the camera, the images automatically transfer to the computer.
Otherwise, in the Transfer images from Camera/Card screen, click Start Transfer . The images are transferred to the computer, and then if there are any still images that were previously selected for HP Instant Share destinations, those actions are started.
When the Image Action Summary screen appears on the computer, you can disconnect the camera from the computer.
Method two: Transfer images without the HP Photosmart software
If you do not, or cannot, install HP Photosmart Software on your computer, you can still transfer images from the camera to the computer using the Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) in Windows XP.
Follow the steps below to transfer images.
Turn on the camera.
Windows will automatically launch a program to transfer the images.
When the images have finished transferring, disconnect the camera from the computer.
If you encounter problems, check that the camera USB Configuration in the Setup Menu is set to Digital Camera .
While in Live View , press the Live View/Playback button, and then press the Menu/OK button.
Scroll to the Setup Menu using the left/right arrow buttons.
Use the up/down arrow buttons to scroll through the Setup Menu to highlight the USB option.
Use the left/right arrow buttons to change the setting to Digital Camera and then press the Menu/OK button.
To exit from the Setup Menu , press the Live View/Playback button.
You should be able to transfer the images directly to your computer without transfering them to you memory stick duo. Have you tried connecting the camera to your computer and retrieving the images? If you would rather have the images on your camera on your memory stick duo, then remove the memory stick duo connect the camera to your computer, copy the images off of the camera, turn the camera off, put the memory stick duo back into the camera, plug the camera back in, then transfer the images that you just transfered from the cybershot to your computer back to the camera. They should copy directly to the memory stick duo.
Well one option would be to download the images from the cameras internal card to your computer and then transfer them to the card.
I have a card reader so it would be easy to do, or if your computer has a slot for the card that would work too.
Or, just hook your camera up to the computer and use the image downloading wizard that pops up in XP. Or, if it doesn't show/pop up, just hook up camera to 'puter via cord & then click on my computer and you'll see the camera listed. Move image files & then you may need a card reader to transfer images to xd.
Not sure why you would want to keep them on the XD card except to transport them around to another 'puter.
Nikon complies with the industry standard DCF (Design Rule for Camera File Systems) format which governs the file structure of images on memory cards as well as file naming and other image properties. Due to the constraints of this file system, images that have been edited may not be able to be read by the camera when copied back to the card.
The card can, however, be used to move images (or other files) just like any other removable disk. To do this connect the camera to the computer using the "MSC" USB mode (where supported) or use a third-party USB memory card reader. The camera's card will then appear like any other "Removable Device" and files can be copied to it.
Nikon cannot offer additional assistance in transferring images back to the card or viewing edited images on the camera.
