Question about Televison & Video

Magnavox 42 inch LCD TV

My magnavox will change the source and channel when I am using hte TV. For example, if I am watching a DVD in AV1, the TV will automatically change the source to AV2 or to random channels. Is this problem common?

I have a Magnavox 26" LCD/DVD combo player with exactly the same problem. I'm combing the web now looking to see if anyone has the same problem and found this post. Would appreciate any findings. I have in the meantime tried using different video sources, different electrical outlets but all to no avail.

I was having the same problem. On my tv it was caused by a loose or faulty interface chip. I solved this on my television by opening the case and unplugging the circuit board at the top center where the menu and channel buttons are located. I've been running the tv for about a week and have had no more problems.

THE MAGNAVOX PLASMA 42 INCH TV IT HAS SOUND BUT NO PICTURE ITS JUST BLACK

Did you check your cabling on the video input to the TV? I would try replacing the cables first. If that doesnt work I would try using a different source for the video than what you are using now. Do you have a seperate dvd or bluray player or even another cable box that has the same outputs as the source you currently cannot see? If so try using another one and if it still doesn't work then the culprit most likely lies within the TV.

I can't get the VCR mode off the TV screen in order to watch TV.

try looking for either "source" button on the remote or ""input" choice. also you can try using the channel changing buttons, sometimes you can get out of vcr mode by just going up or down on the channel selector

Change input source for philips magnavox

use the up/down channel until you get to the input you have connected. You did not say you had a remote so i am using the standard fix for this.

Magnavox, channel buttons cycle through sources

You need to reprogram your TV if you do not have a cable box or satellite box, otherwise those are going to be the only channels that the unit will pick up. If you do have a cable box or satellite box, just hit 0-3 or 0-4 if you are using a coaxial wire. If no box is present, you can just go into the menu and hit autoprogram - select cable for direct cable from wall, and antenna for antenna. Note: this particular TV is going to need a box in another 5 weeks due to the DTV transition, so my solution will only carry you for another few weeks.

Common issue I have come across when using any TV as a PC monitor. Best workaround i found is just dont change inputs or reboot the PC and the tv will pick it back up.

DVD input with signal access

IF I understand you correctly, the VCR, Satellite, etc is connected using an RF modulator/coaxial cable wire going into Antenna in

IF this is true, then you have an AV IN port (red, yellow, white) free on the back. Just connect the red, yellow, white from the out of the DVD - you can use 1 or 2 - just remember which one you used; and connect it to the AV IN on the back of the TV.

THEN press ch down on the TV remote until you get to "AV1" - it is below channel 2; double check DVD player to make DVD is playing and voila!

Hooking up a magnavox MWD7006 DVD player to a APEX TV

honey and guest: connections: Red, white, and yellow composite from out of cable/sat box to in of this dvd, and then a 2nd red , white and yellow cable from out of this player to in on television. Every television calls the correct channel something different - make note of where you plug the r,y,w cables to TV -- it may be labelled video1, video 2, av1, av2, input1, ext 1, etc. Turn tv to correct input/av/source/video channel. Call 1-800-605-8610 for further assistance.
