Is it blowing hot air out the vent?. I've seen something like pencils , lint or about anything clog the fan and won't let it turn. The vent must be clean going to the outside of the house. You can take the vent tube off at the dryer and see if it helps if it does out side vent might be cloged.
The operating thermostat might not be cutting off power to heating coil soon enough and getting hot enough to blow fuse. Check all thermostats and any one time cutoffs a one time fuse. Don't know what type dryer or model number you have. When you ask for help always give the name and model or your machine because they are different.Hope this helps.

Hi, I wouldn't say you are way off, unless your expectations are way hi. Most average joe's or jane's don't work on dryer's everyday, so some reason needs to be considered. I'm currently on my iphone and not my home computer so I can't attach an illustration to guide you on how to thread the belt through the pulley/idler however, if you go to youtube and type in whirlpool dryer belt repair it should yield you many helpful videos on "how to" just what you need. Hope you found this info helpful and if so please rate it's helpfulness or leave a testimony...or both. Thank you for coming to "fixya" for your repair tips. Let me know if I can assist you further, and good luck. Macmarkus :)

Sounds like the thermal cut-off is kicking in. Try checking the vent to make sure its not blocked and causing it to overheat, this would cause the cool down (the other candidate is a bad fuse, but if you fixed that already I would leave that for last)

LER4634EQ2 whirlpool electric dryer. heating element, thermal cut-off, and high limit are all getting continuity, but heating element still will not heat up.

I know this might sound stupid but try this. Find your fuse box, locate the breaker that runs your dryer. Flip it off and then back on. If i'm correct, it will work. Everything on your dryer works off of one leg of the 220v. The other leg goes to the other side of the element. If you have a meter. check for 220v at the plug. Everything you listed is what makes the dryer heat other than the thermostats. Check the cycling thermostats like you did the other pieces. They look like the thermal cut off. They have two wires and they are round.

Whirlpool dryer model LER7646EQ1

Thats what it's supposed to do hopefully the clothes are coming out dry. The dryer has both thermal sesors and fuses that tell the dryer when to heat up and when to cool down. So yes the heating element will come on and go off multiple times in a cycle.

Dryer works but no hot air

Hello, if it's an electric dryer and you have absolutely no hot air, then it's either the heating element or the thermal cut-off, most likely.

The thermal cut-off is the fuse on the element's housing.

Check both for continuity. Good luck :)
Please feel free to keep emailing me if you'd like.

There is a thermal fuse its location depends on the dryer if the filter is on the top then you have to take off the back panel and check the white fuse. If the filter is inside the dryer you have to take off the bottom panel. a flathead screw driver for the 2 clips the check the white fuse behind the lint trap (where the filter goes).
