Question about Sony KP-65WS500 65" Rear Projection Television
I can help you out here. This may be a bad red crt(picture tube) If you see curved vertical lines across the screen then it sounds like a shorting crt. You will definetly need a Sony authorized servicer to replace the crt. Get an estimate first. After so many years it's not to uncommon for the crt's to go bad or short. Good Luck

AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
