I'm having essentially the same problem--I can't see anything! Additionally, I'm not really sure how to physically use the top scope?? (I'm an English teacher so all this science stuff is a little foreign to me. However, I live in the country with clear, starry skies, so I REALLY want to learn!) My telescope didn't come with basic operating instructions, and I can't really seem to find any on the net. In basic (very basic) information would really be helpful.

    Thanks~

    Kim :o)

P.S. My telescope is a Celestron PowerSeeker 114

Did you start by using your lowest magnification eyepiece? Until you get used to that one it's almost impossible to use the higher powered eyepieces. I was looking too high in the sky and with too much magnification and was having the same problem. Find something like the roof of the garage and then gradually sweep the sky just above it slowly. --- If you can see only black during the day too - there is possibly a misalighnement of mirrors - you can buy a collumating kit from celestron.com - hope this helps.

Image is upside down in Celestron PowerSeeker 114AZ telescope

That's because this telescope is what's called a reflector. The image in reflector telescopes are upside down. This isn't an issue since reflectors are designed for looking at the night sky.

How to clean eye of dvd player?

You can buy discs that are made for cleaning the laser on a CD player. They look like regular CD's, except they have little bunches of really fine hairs on them. If you just want a do it yourself way, I would use a q-tip and some 99% Iso (rubbing alcohol). The iso will evaporate so you don't need to worry about any moisture left behind.

Our Celestron Power Seeker 114EQ fell over, now we are having difficulty seeing through it. Are the mirrors jostled, is there a way to fix this?

Most likely-- watch this video to learn how to collimate your scope.

Also look inside the tube and see if the secondary mirror under the focuser came loose.

I have a spi 2gb mp3 player and have lost the software disc i cannot find anything online to help me and the tech support for the spi site goes to an unbought site for godaddy.com this is ridiculous. win 7...

Try another computer (if available) to see if the player is reconised by that one. If it is reconised, there may be something wrong with your computer (windows should still reconise the device as a mp3 player, but would not be able to open it without the drivers). If you can't try another computer, try a linux live cd (I recomend Ubuntu http://www.ubuntu.com/) the live cd will not modify your computer unless you tell it to. To use the live cd insert it in the cd drive, reboot and in the bios menu select boot from cd. Using the live cd will allow the computer to run linux (another operating system) without installing it, meaning that you won't need to worry about iharming your computer. I reccomend this because if you use the live cd, you will have a different OS looking at the device, like having a fresh set of eyes, and it may be able to open the player (Ubuntu has great driver support).
