Answered this before...here is the cut and paste.

You will not be able to unlock the phone but you can restore it. You will have to put the phone into restoration mode by powering it off (by holding the top button) and with itunes ready and your cable in hand, press and hold the Home button while you plug it in. Itunes will come up and say that it has detected an iphone in recovery mode and will ask if you want to restore it to new factory software. I don't think that you will be able to recover your data. But if you regularly sync it with itunes it may prompt you to restore it.
