How do I re-format my acre aspire 5610 &am...

The first question is are you sure you want to do this?
The second is have you backed up everything you want to keep
The third is do you have all the installers for the programs you wish to put back on the computer when your finished.it
The forth do you have a FULL copy of XP and The CD Key (If No cd key Don't do it!!!)

Step 1 boot into the bios and change the boot order to boot from CD first
Step 2 Insert the Windows XP CD
Step 3 exit bios saving changes
Step 4 Press any key to boot from cd when promped to do so then wait
Step 5 Except the eula agreement
Step 6 it should propted you to either repair the current version or do a fresh install Choose fresh install

Step 7 delete the partition and create a new one with the free space
Step 8 Format using Ntfs or Fat32 (NTFS is the better choice, If your impatiant choose quick format)

Step 9 Windows will start the installation just anwser any questions that may pop up and input the CD Key

go to bios (hit del on start up) rearange boot sequence , that first boot device is cd drvie ...put winx xp in you dvd /cd drive
restart computer when it says press any key too booot from cd hit enter
žand it will start procedure for checking you configuratin and you will come to the section when it will post you your installed hard drives, format drive and install fresh copy iof xpp it is really streath forward ..you can mistake, just read.:)))
