Testimonial: "The stand just screwed onto the back, so there was no hole. I was a little more aggressive because u said there were clips, back came off!"

Capacitor on lg lcd tv 32lg30r back-light inverter board has bulged out

Try replacing all the bulging caps you find and see if that does the trick. If you have a capacitor tester you might want to check the other caps in the proximity of the ones that are leaking. Sometimes a capacitor can go bad with no outward sign of its demise.

Lg 37" lcd tv no power to set whatsoever! not even any standby light

my advise is to change all the capacitors on the power board with 105degree c caps and if you can fit them in the space on the board with higher voltage working ones. the electrolytic caps in power supplies in lcd tv,s are the most main causes of this problem. you have checked the usual input connectors/fuses first ?

Tv power button doesn't work, don't have remote, can't know if tv works when plugged in

remove the back panel and inspect the power supply, check for blown fuse then the board for any blown or bulged capacitors and any black spots on the board.

My 26" LCD LG Tv turns on, shows the channel for

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors. Many electronics companies were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$???????

2. Open your TV and find PSB. Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found at tv-part.com but supplies are limited.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

I have a tip/tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. It's called: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to help guide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Hope this helps and Good luck.

When i turn on the tv , it shuts itself off in 2

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

A reset switch?

Wait until the power comes back on? Plug the TV back in? The obvious solutions are usually the best.
