Thermal overload protector is mounted on the motor. Normally the motor is replaced.

I had the same problem and had to replace the motor control board. That fix worked great until last week and know the washer seems to get stuck during the cycle. Maybe this board is bad too.

This means Instantaneous current overload.

This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector or motor controller. Overloading the washing machine may cause this.

My Whirlpool Calypso is flashing C1 when I try to start a load

Hello
C1/CI code indicates instantaneous current limit trip. This instantaneous current trip occurs if there is a spike of 26 Amps instantly at the motor windings. This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector or motor controller. Overloading the unit may cause this problem. Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Calypso kenmore washing machine faulty spin cycle ''CA'' code

This code signifies that there may be a problem with the motor, thermal protector or motor controller. Overloading the appliance may cause such an error code. Try using a smaller load. If the code reappears, contact an appliance service company.

Kenmore elite calypso model 22086102 will not clean clothes.Detergent is same. Getting a CI error code continuously. Have had techs twice to check it out and both times they say it is fine. Any tips?...

The owners manual says

"CA" or "Cl" (Current Limit)
Is the washer overloaded?
Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

Does it automatically do this when you start a load? Any further info you could give me would be helpful.
I hope this helps.

My kenmore elite calypso has a flashing code C1. What does this mean. Also, how can i get a manual for this washer, that explains all the codes.

C1 is not one of the normal codes. It's probably CI (upper i).
Stands for 'Instantaneous current' limit trip. Happens when there is a spike of 26 Amps intensity at the motor windings.
The manual states it may be a problem with the drive motor, thermal protector or motor controller.

check here for your stuff. make sure you put your exact model number in the box at the top. i used my machine (GVW9959KL1). absolutely awesome website and has very competitive prices, if not the best prices for parts. hope this helps.

Kenmore Calypso #110.2262101 SN-CL3602829 CI error code

The CL fault indicates that there was an instantaneous current spike of 26 amps at the motor windings in the washer. This could be caused by overloading the washer. It can also be caused by problems with the drive motor, thermal protector or the motor controller.

You should have been able to clear the display by pressing the STOP/CANCEL button.

If you try running the washer again and continue to get this fault code even with a small or medium load, I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair the washer.

I have a Kenmore Elite Calypso It Displayed C1 then blacked out

Instantaneous Current ("CI") spike. Overloaded washer or a problem with the motor windings (drive motor, not pump motor, thermal protector or motor controller. Wash less articles next time. If the problem does not recur, overloaded washer might have been the problem. If it continues to occur, might need a service call unless you like to do it yourself (get a service manual - google the model #).

Kenmore Elite Calypso Wash Motion

Basically its saying that the motor is pulling very high amperes. This could signify a faulty motor, motor controller, or thermal protector, or there could be a mechanical bind in the transmission. i would use a amprobe and check to see how much power is being pulled when the machine starts, and as it is operating if it is 5.55 amps or greater and higher than 20 amps on motor start surge, than the motor controller is correct in saying there is a problem. ------Dont forget to rate my help!!!!!! thanks
