You need to change the code in the remote and inside the receiver in the motor body. There should be little switches in both units that must match setting.

There is an chance you circuit board got a surge. It may need replaced. First try unplugging it for 30 sec and plugging it back in. Garages are generally protected by a gfi plug. Sometime with power outages these trip. Resetting it can also be an easy fix.

I really need your help. My Craftsman unit model number is 139.53615SR manufactured 1/92. I have a three car garage. The original two remote controls were lost and since then I've used the setting in my...

Have your neighbor bring over his remote and open or close your door with it. Then hold the smart/learn button in for 6 seconds on your opener. Then see if he can open your door. He shouldn't be able to because that procedure erases the memory in your opener. No remotes should work. You need to get that remote #53778 back and program it and then see if your neighbor can open your door. If he can open your door at any point after you have held that button in for 6 seconds you need to get a new door opener.

I turned my garage door opener off and went to manual yesterday because the power was off in our community . Since i have done this i cannot switch it back. It is a Chamberlain-3220. Can anyone tell me how...

I think by going to manual you must mean you released the door from the opener by pulling down on the rope. The release on newer openers locks in the released position so the two halves of the trolley will not snap together. To unlock this pull straight down on the rope and release. By running the opener or sometimes by manually moving the door you can get the two halves to snap back together.

Remove the cover from the motor unit and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor. Also check the door springs. One of them could be broken.

Door worked, 2 hours later didn't- just hummed good weather

If it just hums when a button is pressed it could be the start capacitor. This sits next to the motor and is about 5 inches long and about as big around as a silver dollar.

Door won't open

Unfortunately storms do bad things so door openers sometimes. It has most likely gotten to your logic board. You can remove that board and look for burnt or missing traces of the print. Random flashing of that LED is normal.

Garage Opener Lights will not come on

IF YOU CAN - TEST FOR 110V AT THE CENTER TANG OF THE LIGHT SOCKET.
IF NO POWER YOU PROBABLY HAVE A BAD TIMER CIRCUIT ON THE BOARD - NO EASY FIX NEW BOARD.
IF YOU HAVE POWER YOU MAY HAVE ISSUES WITH THE SOCKET OR ARE USING THE WRONG BULB - A STANDARD LIGHT BULB IS ALL THAT IS REQUIRED. SOME OF THE NEW BULBS HAVE A SIMILAR LOOK BUT DO NOT WORK IN A STANDARD SOCKET.

1/2HP garage door opener, model 139.53640srt

SOUNDS LIKE YOU DAMAGED A WIRE. TRY RUNNING TEST WIRES TO BYPASS THE ONES YOU COVERED UP.
WHEN YOU DETERMINE WICH WIRE IS BAD YOU CAN SURFACE RUN IT OR UNFORTUNATELY YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE SHEET ROCK TO MOUNT IT IN THE WALL. - DO NOT RUN THE WIRES WHERE THEY CAN GET SMASHED BY THE SHEETROCK OR SHORTED BY A NAIL.
HOPE THIS HELPS
