Sandisk will not respond

I just bought a brand new sansa. I downloaded songs onto my player and disconnected the device, after i disconnected I clicked on a song, and the entire thing froze! It will not respond to anything, and the automatic shut down isn't working either.
any suggestions?

The media device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected

Make sure you're not using the media with another program while you attempt to copy/sync it to your device.

Pretty late response, but meh.

Can't download music onto my Sansa e250

If you have more than one USB port try another port. If not try downloading Yahoo! Music Jukebox.

Sansa mp3 player e200 version

Try this;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.
