Question about DVD & Blu-Ray Players

DVD Player reads Unreliably

On a nice pristine disc this machine sometimes takes minutes of scrapey-sounding noises before it reads and locks onto the next chapter. The lens cleaning disc hasn't helped, and it doesn't seem to do it when playing a disc straight through. It only hangs up sometimes when jumping from track to track. Eventually it always reads the next track and plays the next chapter. Also it has no trouble at all playing CDs. Can it be fixed or is it just old and defunct?

Pioneer dv-2010 dvd player makes a whirring noise

That's because the lazer on the tray is trying to read the disc. Does this happen to other discs? When the lazer can't read the file, the drive spins up the disc to help it read it.

most of the time this is a simple lens issue where the cd drive in computer is slightly distorted causing it to be a little more frigidity about playing dvd that are not otherwise pristine I would go to walgreens and buy a can of compressed air give your dive a few sprays and you should have alot less problems like this

hope this helped

DVD player locked on "welcome" wont respond to any buttons

The dvd player appears to be unable to start up, unplug the machine and plug it back in after a minute, try again, if the unit still fails to start up, its probably a hardware issue.

A Firmware disc might help, or it might not if the player is unable to read it.

You should take this to your dealer for warranty repair or take it to a local repairer, or buy a new one, they don't cost much.

you can also try unplugging it for a longer perioid.

Sounds like you have a disc reading problem, in that it can read that there is a disc there, but can't actually read it. May need to have it serviced. If you can't get the disc out, sometimes turning the machine off at the wall, waiting a while, then turning it back on again will spit the disc drawer open. But beware that this may also cause the drawer to lock up. Again, it sounds like it may need to be serviced and have the DVD deck looked at.

My DVD player wont read a disc

There are several things you can do to try and solve your problem: Make sure that the DVDs you try to play are encoded for the right region. Make sure that the transportation lock (usually a plastic screw on the bottom of the unit), is not engaged. Turn off player with disc inserted, unplug temporarily from wall outlet, plug back in and turn back on.
