Hi,
That error means that the Boot Manager is Missing. This is usualy caused by either a failed hard drive, or a failed attempt at recovery. If you try to do a recovery and then suddenly halt the process, weather on purpose or due to somthing like power failure, then the first bit of the Recovery boot process, the BTMNGR, can be hosed. If this happens then your only option is to order recovery disks from the manufacturer and install the OS that way. These disks will run you about $15-$30
You might boot into bios (F10 on startup) and do a hard drive self test first to make sure you dont have a hard drive problem...

No audio output device is installed, when i go to device manager i cant see sound option anywhere i then tried installing the Conexant hd sound driver from hp site it worked but only for about 15/20 min when i reboot the system hey presto sounds back again but then same thing 15/20min later its gone. ive even tried recovery manager to restore the sound driver to its previous state when it was first purchased and i got the message " Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for the driver" Somebody out there must know how to sort this if you do i will be in your debt Kuv
