Stop button collapsed below top cover of

''STOP'' button collapsed below top cover of machine ZOOM HD-16 Digital Recorder , to remove top cover, do I need to remove every knob on the top plate? i.e. slider knobs? EQ buttons ? Etc If so do I lever each one up with ...a flat-head screwdriver? or ? ... thanks for any advice..the machine is just out of the warranty period (5 weeks over) , and other than the collapsed button, all is working ok, but the ''stop'' problem makes the machine awkward to operate, hopefully it will be a 'reasonably' simple procedure to remove the top cover, so I will attempt to do the repair myself rather than go to the inconvenience and probable expense of the distributors service thanks for any help ...
