The card set up screen comes up when I turn the camera on

when I turn on the camera (olympus 3-10 zoom) the blue card set up screen comes on. This has not happened before. I have saved the photos that are on the camera to my computer but I cannot get the camera to work apart from the set up screen. I don't want to format the camera if possible as I will lose the photos, but if this is what I have to do then so be it.I was only browsing through the photos on the camera two days ago and all was fine then.What should I do?
