Problem with Deskjet 895cxi

After a paper jam, my Deskjet 895cxi now cannot send the paper through the rollers for printing. Start up is as usual, but when it is time for the paper to go through the rollers, the printer makes a weird noise and the paper does not move.

You may open the rear door to check for any paper jam in side
or if it still gives error rotate the roller in upward direction till you get one locking sound, restart printer and check printing

if you still find grinding noise from printer, its pickup roller gear may be worn-out generally and need to be replaced
contact service person for further repair

How to duplex print with 895cxi

This model printer does not have a duplex unit and cannot print double sided documents automatically.
DOUBLE SIDED PRINTING USING A SINGLE SIDED PRINTER
If your printer does not have a duplex unit then the printercannot print double sided pages automatically.
You can print double sided pages but you have to do it one page at a time.
First print Page 1 then place the page back into the paper tray, but turn thepage upside down and the print Page 2.
Then print page 3 on one side then page 4 on the other side and repeat for therest of the document.
I suggest you try a test page first, to get the printing the right way up onboth sides of the page so it reads correctly.

Power light and resume light are flashing at same time (not alternately) and ink cartridges are immobile on far right side of carrier bar (no access to them).

Accoring to the above, you have a paper jam. Check that there is no paper anywhere in the printer and that the paper path sensor can move freely

good luck

My hp deskjet says there is a paper jam when there is none and will not print

If your printer for any reason reports a paper jam, withput going through the "clearing paper jam" procedure it may not respond to print command. So follow the procedure below:-

Clearing paper jam in a printer is simple almost seven step procedure depending on the printer. Paper jam is the term used to refer to the scenario where your paper fails to come out of the printer during the print process. When you send a document to the printer, normally the printer prints out the document on a paper; then you can pick up your printed copy. When the paper gets stuck in the printer, it is said that paper has jammed in the printer "paper jam".

Even if you are not a technical person, you can conveniently clear paper jams. All you need is to follow the set of procedures outlined below.

Good luck & God bless!

States out of paper but does have paper In HP deskjet 895CXi printer

Solution
Step one: Reset the product
  1. Without turning the product off, remove the power cord from the back of the product.
  2. Wait 30 seconds and then plug the power cord into the back of the product.
Step two: Check the condition of the paper and reload it
  1. Replace any paper that is ripped, dusty, curled, wrinkled, or bent. NOTE: Use only plain, white, unused paper in the product until the issue is resolved.
  2. Tap the stack of paper on a flat surface to align the edges.
  3. Make sure that the stack of paper to be loaded in the product contains no fewer than 10 and no more than 25 sheets of paper. NOTE: Do not load too much paper in the product.
  4. Insert the stack of paper into the product and gently push the paper guides snugly against the paper. Make sure that the paper is completely inserted into the product and can be picked up by the paper rollers.
  5. Try printing again. If the issue is not resolved, try loading different brands of paper and different types of paper, one type at a time, into the product and then try printing again. If the issue persists, continue with the next step.
Step three: Adjust the paper settings in the print driverThe paper settings in the print driver must match the paper settings for at least one of the installed paper trays.
  1. Open a document in the program being used to print.
  2. Click File , click Print , and then click Properties . The product Properties dialog box appears.
  3. Click the Paper/Quality tab.
  4. Choose the appropriate paper size from the Size is drop-down menu.
  5. Choose the appropriate paper type from the Type is drop-down menu.
  6. Click OK and then click OK again to print the document..
  7. If the issue is not resolved, continue with the next step.
NOTE: If the issue is resolved and it is necessary to print on another type of paper, load the new paper type into the product and then repeat steps 2 through 7 for the new paper. These changes do not change the default print settings. The print settings return to the default the next time the program is opened. Step four: Clean the rollers
  1. Turn off the product and unplug the power cord.
  2. Open the access door to gain access to the rollers. Depending on the model, this is usually the rear access door. See the product user guide for information about locating the rollers.
  3. Clean the rubber rollers with a lint-free cloth, lightly moistened with water. NOTE: Distilled, filtered, or bottled water is recommended for cleaning the rollers. Tap water might contain contaminants that can damage the rollers.
  4. Make sure that any paper rollers that rest on the input tray, which are located behind the back rollers, are cleaned. A clean cotton swab, lightly moistened with water, might be necessary to reach these rollers.
  5. Close the access door and plug in the power cord.
