Question about Samsung RS2630SH Side by Side Refrigerator
My refrigerator started making a noise about a month ago. It comes and goes. However it has started producing a smell like an overheated engine. The sides are heating up and the spaces in between the doors too have began to get hot. Anyone know what is causing this and is there a solution?
I would assume you have a bad self defrosting motor. This motor generally is used to cycle heat at certain points to keep the unit from allowing the condansation from freezing inside the refridg. I am assuning the smell is this motor heating up. Should the motor quit, it is normally not a fire hazard but should be taken care of. You'll need to remove the back panel of the refridg and you'll see the minuture motor and probably hear is making noise. Always be sure to unplug the refridg before opening the back panel or any service to prevent shock. Good luck
