go into your control panel/system/hardware and select your sound card...find the driver page, and roll back your drivers. Once you have done this, go to microsoft update, select the custom option, and once it has finished detecting updates, select the one pertinent to your sound card. Click the little "+" sign next to the update, and click the "Do not show this update again" checkbox. This will prevent auto update from downloading the update in future.
