To use the fm radio do I need to have internet coverage

I'd say AM is weak and FM is dead
and the antenna is not connected to radio. missing off top right fender? if missing expect:
AM in the city is so powerful it can seem it is ok and is not. see?
FM never works if antenna is unplugged or omg missing

most old car Radios do not play all CDs,. TYPES.
this old CD drive inside needs to be cleaned (dust off all optics) must.

the cars users guide has no radio topic coverage at all
so they had separate manual for it. (and super rare to find)

FM need a good antenna, buT FM in the country side will be weak
or even dead, FM does not travel far at all ,even only 20 miles
AM we have super power stations that cover most the country.
I bet the RADIO is just fine.
it can be bench tested with a 1 strand of say 4 feet of wire for an antenna.
you posted about only a RADIO not CD and not AM
FM is short ranged, 88 to 108MHz. is that
no town told , but you can call your closest station and ask them there coverage, spec.? 50miles or 10 or? what ever.
or you can go to a 2nd car, test FM see if there is one strong station.
if not there there is none.
on home RADIO we use a roof mounted 30Ft high antenna, FM
and goes way father,.
in car that can not be done, most antenna amps in cars only increase noise.
is this your first car, or first ever FM radio.?
yes antenna's can fail even the ground, (it is 2 wire coax to fail)
the mount can corrode. the cable can be bad.
some have antenna in the wind shield glass, and some one puts in new glass with no antenna there well that fails hard.
FM is mostly a CITY BIG DEAL, no living in the sticks.
also there are tiny FM micro station,and those are weak.
only line get a FM map for you town, just like Cell phones but for FM.

Tablets have a weaker transmitter, so even though you might have good signal, your device may not be able to transmit back to the wifi radio.

move closer to the wifi radio, or install another wifi radio in the area you need faster coverage.

Last.fm is not a radio service even though their name sounds like they would be one. Its really a music recommendation service. An internet radio like tune-in is closer to that of iheart radio.

Unfortunately, the i-mate 9502 doesn't have FM radio. I can think of a workaround for you, though, like the i-Tech Clip bluetooth stereo headsets with built in FM radio, which, besides being able to handle your calls (handy for such a heavy phone of yours, don't you think?) you'd be able to listen to stereo MP3s stored in your phone (as well as to its built-in FM radio). Take a look at them, and see if one of them fits your needs.

If Menu -> Media does not shoe any Internet Radio (you have to have GPRS connection for it) then go to Nokia site and download the Internet Radio. The best Radio. All Fm radios, about 2000 of them All languages, all countries, all types. Otherwise, there is no way you can listen to local FM stations.

The Realistic PRO-2052 is an old (vintage) scanner receiver with fixed AM and FM modes on the bands it cover, as specified by the U.S. band allocation. The PRO-2020 covers only the VHF and UHF frequencies and modes AM and FM is not user selectable. Frequencies can be programmed into any of the 20 memory channels

U.S. Coverage: (varies from state to state and other countries. We don't use 30-50 Mhz here in the Philippines for 2 way mobile communications, except for cordless phones)

30-50 Mhz Lower VHF at FM narrowband only (covers mobile, emergencies, businesses, etc. and

108-136 Mhz Aircraft band at AM narrowband only

If you're trying to select AM or FM for a specified frequency, I'm afraid you can't do that as it is not selectable.

If you are trying to program AM Broadcast frequencies (mediumwave (MW) or FM Broadcast frequencies (FM radio stations), those were not covered by your PRO-2020's microprocessor. Even if you modify your scanner to receive those bands, you will not hear radio transmission properly since the receiver do not decode FM wideband, which is the standard mode for FM broadcast and Television band.
