I bought a new laptop with Microsoft office home/student 2007 already installed, but the product key isnt working. I type the 25 digits into the allowed space, and it says that it is the wrong key. My laptop is an acer aspire one.
That's a temporary version and you may have purchased a different version. Use the cd and key together or contact the place of purchase for the proper key/media configuration
Hi there I too have just purchased a new notebook and had microsoft sotware preinstalled. However it is not a trial version it is the full version some do come with the full version it all depends if it was included in the package. You can easily check by looking at the box it came in it will state free or trial somwhere on the box. If you find out it is indeed a full version then contact either the company that sold you the laptop or contact microsoft for assistance with a replacement key.
What you had was the trial version of MS Office, which is time bound. And the time has since expired. No new laptop gives you MS Office as part of the sale. It is always a trial version. So to be able to use it in future, you should purchase the license. Alternatively, start using Open Office which is available from www.openoffice.org free. It is 100% compatible with MS Office and as powerful. You canm work on any MS Office document with OO. Download now, free.
