The top oven of our GE JT950 doesn't seem to be getting hot enough. I set the temperature to 350, and the temp display tells me the oven thinks it's reached that temperature, but food is baking very slowly. I don't have a way to measure the actual temperature, though I am willing to buy an accurate thermometer if someone could recommend one.

Both GE JT950 ovens heat VERY slowly. All functions appear to work on my JT950, but both ovens heat very slowly (more than 30 minutes for pre-heat). After 45 minutes the top oven was still not over 320 degrees when set to 350 (the oven still did not feel like it had reached 320 degrees). Thermostat adjustment is still set to +-zero and oven is set to Fahrenheit mode. Convection mode in upper oven "seems" to work a little better. I can check the input wiring to see if both hot leads are carrying current and are the same voltage.

I have removed my electric wall oven and cooktop and am replacing them with used westinghouse (paf-808w) drop in unit that requires 2 phase. Do i need to have both circuits come out together (currently 2 mtrs apart) for the electrician or can he convert the single phase?
