I dont think the monitor is the problem. I think it is the computer program.

Any suggestions on replacing or fixing.

    Thanks,

I tried to download the tape to the TV but the picture is blurry. I got the DCR-HC23E as a gift from Europe and I live in Canada. I also tried to download the picture to the laptop but it looks I don't...

Sounds like a problem with the European signal trying to be viewed on an NTSC signal set. If the picture plays back fine on the camcorder and not on the tv set then its most likely the conversation loss between the 2 different video standard signals

Pictures are fine in camera and on computer but blurry when memory card is installed in television

I'm guessing your tv screen is much bigger than the computer screen. You're stretching the pixels past their limit and that's why the picture is blurry. How many megapixels is your camera capable of shooting and do you have your camera set to take the maximum at the finest quality setting?

Moisture? Blurry lens or moisture inside

I haven't tried this myself, but I have heard of folks putting their camera in sunshine, and just let it set , and others have used a hair dryer for short durations. Like I said I haven't tried these, and usually moisture is a camera killer.

The crop setting you selected & used may be too low in size and resolution which is meant for web application.

Blurry picture on Canon A80

I don't know what you told that technician, but try this. Download some of your pictures and videos to your computer. If the downloaded pictures look fine on your computer, then the technician was right, and it's probably just a loose LCD ribbon cable connection.

BUT if the downloaded pictures also look blurry with stripes, then it's probably a faulty CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. BUT MAKE SURE you tell the technician this time that it is showing up on your DOWNLOADED pictures. I recommend trying again, and hope for a more knowledgeable tech on the line this time. Please check the following two links for more info:

Digital camera Fine Pix

Does this happen all under the same lighting conditions, or in low or very bright light? If consistent light, do the pictures still seem faded or blurry on the screen of a computer? if so, the sensor might be damaged, and yes a new one. If they're ok (consistent) on computer screens, then the camera lcd might be loose or damaged which means its fine but give it away and get a new one if you can't handle shooting without relying on the lcd.
